Our Mission
October Dream Animal Sanctuary was founded in 2023 by Bill and Amy. Lifelong animal lovers Bill Carson and Amy Gannon-Carson purchased a farm in Voluntown Ct in 2019 now known as Haven Hill Farm. Not long after they took in a cow named Dot. She, a registered Belted Galloway, was being retired from breeding due to a hoof overgrowth problem
October Dream Animal Sanctuary was founded in 2023 by Bill and Amy. Lifelong animal lovers Bill Carson and Amy Gannon-Carson purchased a farm in Voluntown Ct in 2019 now known as Haven Hill Farm. Not long after they took in a cow named Dot. She, a registered Belted Galloway, was being retired from breeding due to a hoof overgrowth problem. The breeding farm wanted Dot to be able to live out her life so she was sent to Haven Hill Farm. That was our beginning. We became an official 501c3 public charity in 2023. We continue to accept animals in need of a loving home. To date 2 steers, 5 goats, 3 pigs, many chickens, 6 dogs and of course Dot call Haven Hill Farm home.

Bill and Amy meet in 2015. They soon discovered that they both dreamed of living on a farm surrounded by animals. They married October 19th 2019, and closed on the farm October 30th that same year.
Bill earned a bs in wildlife biology from the University of Rhode Island. He has spent the last 25 plus years working in veterinary medicine i

Bill earned a bs in wildlife biology from the University of Rhode Island. He has spent the last 25 plus years working in veterinary medicine including a couple years working for a non-profit small animal shelter. Bill has always been an animal welfare advocate. He is thrilled to be starting this next chapter and hopes this is the beginning of something that will carry on long after he's gone.
Amy earned her master's in marriage and family counseling. Amy is a gifted therapist who connects with her clients effortlessly. She currently works with kids through equine therapy. Both Bill and Amy aspire to have October Dream develop into an animal assisted therapy center.
